Commitment to Privacy

BrowSifyWeb is an open-source browser built with a "Privacy First" philosophy. We believe that your browsing data belongs to you, and only you. This policy outlines how we handle data and what permissions we require to provide a full-featured browsing experience.

Data Collection & Telemetry

BrowSifyWeb does not store any of your data on its own servers.

  • No Accounts: We do not require or provide user accounts. Your bookmarks, history, and settings are stored strictly on your device.
  • Telemetry: All telemetry and usage tracking is OFF by default. If you choose to enable it for debugging purposes, data is handled according to standard open-source practices (e.g., crash reports via GitHub issues).

Private Browsing

Our private tab workflow is designed for maximum isolation. Private tabs are excluded from session restores upon app relaunch, and any links opened from a private tab will automatically stay within the private browsing context.

Permissions

To function as a modern web browser, BrowSifyWeb requires certain device permissions. Here is why:

Internet Access Required to load websites.
Storage (Read/Write) Required for downloading files and backing up/restoring your local browser data.
Location Optional. Only used if you explicitly grant a website permission to access your location.
Camera & Microphone Optional. Required for WebRTC features like video calls in the browser (only active when you allow a site access).

Third-Party Sites

When you visit a website, that site may collect data according to its own privacy policy. BrowSifyWeb has no control over the data practices of websites you visit.

Open Source Transparency

As an open-source project, our code is fully auditable. You can verify our privacy claims by reviewing our source code on GitHub.
